Privacy Policy

Send a Card ("we", "us") prints and mails greeting cards that you, or an AI assistant acting on your instructions (for example Meta Muse), ask us to send. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and how long we keep it.

What we collect

• Card content: the photos, headline and message you give us to print on the card. Photo metadata (EXIF, including any GPS location) is stripped on upload.
• Recipient details: the recipient's name and postal address, so the card can be delivered.
• Sender details: your name and, optionally, your email address (for receipts and delivery updates) and a return address to print on the envelope.
• Order and payment records: order status, price and a payment reference. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers.
• Technical logs: request timestamps, IP addresses and error logs used to keep the service secure and to prevent abuse.

How we use it

• To design, print and mail the card you ordered, and to show you a preview before you pay.
• To take payment through Stripe and to issue refunds.
• To answer support requests, handle disputes, and detect and block abusive use such as harassment or spam.

We do not sell personal data, do not use your photos or messages to train AI models, and do not use facial recognition or create biometric identifiers. Photo cropping is purely geometric.

Who we share it with (subprocessors)

• Print and mail partners (Cardly; Handwrytten for some US orders): receive the card artwork, message, recipient address and, if you supplied one, your return address. They act on our instructions and may not use the data for anything else.
• Stripe: payment processing. Stripe receives the amount, your payment method and, if you gave one, your email for the receipt. It does not receive the card content or the recipient's address.
• Cloudflare and our hosting provider: network delivery and hosting of the service.

If you received a card

If someone sent you a card through Send a Card, the sender gave us your name and address so the card could be delivered; we process it on the basis of the sender's and our legitimate interest in delivering mail you were sent. We do not use it for marketing. You can stop any further cards to your address at sendacard.io/stop, and you can ask us to delete your details by emailing support@sendacard.io. To report an abusive card, use the reference printed on its back.

AI assistants

When you use Send a Card through an AI assistant such as Meta Muse, the assistant sends us only what the order needs: card content, recipient address, sender details and a payment reference. Nothing is charged until you approve the total. The assistant provider's own privacy policy governs what it retains.

Retention

• Card previews that never turn into an order are deleted after 7 days.
• Photos and full-resolution artwork for completed orders are deleted 30 days after delivery, so reprints for lost or damaged mail are possible.
• A low-resolution copy of the approved preview, the delivery address and the vendor confirmation are kept for 180 days to answer payment disputes, then deleted.
• Order and payment records are kept for 7 years to meet tax and accounting rules.
• Addresses on the do-not-mail list are kept as a one-way hash for as long as the list exists.

Your rights

You can ask us to show, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you or about a recipient at any time by emailing support@sendacard.io. If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to object and to complain to your supervisory authority; California residents have the rights set out in the CCPA. We respond within 30 days.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Preview links are unguessable and expire. Print partners receive only the data required for each order. Access to production systems is limited to the people operating the service.

Children

Send a Card is for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
